Location
Glorious Glenlivet is renowned for its all-year-round outdoor lifestyle. There are many (easy) local woodland walks, whilst the nearby Speyside Way (for walkers and cyclists) winds gently all the way to the sea breezes of the Moray coast.
The smart new Lecht Ski Centre is only ten miles west along the glen.
The Cairngorms area generally and the whisky-famous Glenlivet in particular are globally recognised for their unspoilt beauty, smog-free air and sweet water.
The mountain landscape is by far the biggest in Britain and includes The Cairngorms National Park (the largest & newest in the U.K.), which provides a safe habitat for over a quarter of our island's protected birds, animals and plants.
The modest but popular village of Tomnavoulin lies exactly 5 miles east of Tomintoul and only 12 miles west of Dufftown.
Aberlour, which has some of the best salmon reaches in Scotland, is just 15 miles to the north, with its schools, swimming pool and Co-op Supermarket; as well as the proud headquarters of the delicious 'Walkers Shortbread'.
A regular bus-service travels from Tomnavoulin Post Office to Aberlour Square, for school children, shoppers and tourists.
The rapidly-expanding cathedral city of 'ancient Elgin', only 28 miles north-east, boasts a giant Leisure Centre, the most modern Library in Scotland, an 'Art Deco' cinema, a thriving Football Club and half-a-dozen fiercely competitive Supermarkets.
Tomnavoulin is equi-distant between Aberdeen & Inverness. Just one and a half hour's careful drive to each city-centre.
