Description

Inchmarlo Cottage is a supremely impressive period dwelling, with the original buildings constructed circa 1888, and subsequently extended to create the beautiful home it now is. Situated in a prime spot on the edge of the eighth fairway of the prestigious Banchory Golf Course on Royal Deeside, the property basks in idyllic surroundings which enjoy a wonderful degree of privacy especially during the summer months when the mature woodlands are in full bloom. Over the years the cottage has been extended, and the current owner has also significantly upgraded the internal fixtures and fittings to the highest degree using only the finest materials combined with expert craftsmanship. Particular mention should be made of the roof which has been completely renewed in the last year with Welsh slates, to the flat sections which are finished in lead, and to the solar panels, which augment the heating system. Guttering is low maintenance cast aluminium. Windows have been replaced with look-alike sash and case double glazed units, and internal decoration is tasteful and appealing. The office units and dressing room furniture are by Neville Johnson, and internal doors are Douglas Fir. Ground level flooring is by Karndean. This now presents as a stylish modern family home with a complement of attractive period features throughout. The accommodation includes very well proportioned accommodation on two levels, with versatile public rooms which flow together, and spacious bedrooms at ground and upper level, and a layout which is therefore ideal for all ages.
